Assistant Professor of Practice , The Writing Program
Jennifer Keizer is a lecturer in composition and rhetoric whose work is shaped by a nontraditional academic path. She served four years in the U.S. Army and later spent over a decade homeschooling her children before earning her master’s degree. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Composition and Rhetoric. Her research interests include rhetoric and writing studies, with particular attention to linguistic studies, the role of rhetoric in food policies and food practices, as well as AI-assisted composition and ethical approaches to teaching writing. She teaches first-year composition with an emphasis on rhetorical awareness, critical thinking, and responsible uses of emerging technologies in writing. Her personal interests include native landscaping, home projects, and sustainable, “crunchy” living.
