Talia Howard Hanna earned her Ph.D. in Culture, Literacy, and Language in the Department of Bicultural-Bilingual Studies at the University of Texas San Antonio. Her dissertation is titled, ‘Expanding English’: Negotiating Critical Creator Identities in Secondary ELA with Critical Multimodal Literates. She is also a graduate of Trinity University, where she earned her B.A. and M.A. in Teaching. Before pursuing her Ph.D. and joining UT San Antonio as faculty, she taught secondary English language arts in San Antonio. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, and trying new restaurants.
