Bio

I joined the Academic Introduction & Strategies (AIS) program in 2019, and I teach AIS Business. My passion is helping students succeed by blending real-world business experiences with hands-on projects that encourage leadership, teamwork and connection. I was honored to receive the University College Teaching Award in 2024 for my commitment to high academic standards and student growth.

As the AIS Business Studies Pathway Coordinator, I support initiatives for the undergraduate business program. I work closely with the Alvarez College of Business and the Student Involvement Center to maintain experiential learning opportunities, particularly around the UTSA festivals in which our students participate.

Before joining UTSA, I taught marketing at the University of the Incarnate Word, drawing from nearly two decades of experience at FedEx Corporation in various strategic roles. I hold an M.B.A. in marketing from Clark Atlanta University and a B.A. in psychology from Spelman College.

Outside the classroom, I am committed to supporting the community, serving on boards like Collective Work International and previously with Healthy Futures of Texas. I’m also a strong advocate for mental health. In my free time, I enjoy being with my family, exercising, and diving into memoirs and documentaries. Originally from sunny California, I love to travel and embrace new experiences—my only regret is not studying abroad in college! I strive to be a lifelong learner and community advocate, always looking to make a positive impact.
