Bio

I am an Assistant Professor of Practice at UT San Antonio with a multidisciplinary background spanning science, research, laboratory management, and higher education. I love teaching because I enjoy helping students connect what they learn in the classroom to the skills, confidence, and professional habits they will use beyond college. My teaching approach emphasizes practical application, communication, personal responsibility, and understanding the “why” behind the work. I encourage students to treat college as an opportunity not only to earn a degree, but also to build their professional identity and network.

Before joining UT San Antonio, I taught and worked at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, including serving as a laboratory coordinator/manager and Adjunct to Chemistry Labs.  My research background includes marine carbonate chemistry, ocean acidification, environmental monitoring, quality assurance/quality control, and scientific instrumentation. I also served five years in the United States Marine Corps as an Aviation Electrician, an experience that helped shape my approach to leadership, teamwork, and accountability.

Outside of work, I enjoy strength training, music, gaming, spending time with my family, and when it isn’t 500 thousand degrees taking my 9-year-old puppy Nacho on walks.
