Bio

I bring a wealth of experience to the classroom as a dedicated educator at UTSA. With a focus on Academic Inquiry Seminars (AIS) within the Exploratory and Life and Health Science pathways, as well as teaching in Multidisciplinary Studies, and leading Introduction to Data Science and Data Science for all, my passion lies in empowering students with essential skills for both academia and the professional world.

In 2021, I was honored to receive the Presidential Distinguished Teaching Award for my commitment to core curriculum teaching. Currently, I am a proud fellow of the Texas Academic Leadership Academy, a role that allows me to further contribute to the academic landscape.

As a member of the GenAI Consortium, I've played a pivotal role in exposing over 10,000 students across diverse disciplines to the exciting realms of Data Science, machine learning, and AI technologies. Witnessing my students thrive and build a toolbox of skills to achieve their academic and professional goals is my utmost priority.

Beyond the classroom, I am an advocate for mental health awareness and have organized multiple events to challenge the stigma surrounding mental health. I firmly believe in creating a supportive environment for students to flourish not only academically but also personally.  UTSA holds a special place in my heart. The vibrant culture and the unique student population make it an extraordinary university to be a part of.

Away from the academic realm, I'm a proud mom and wife who cherishes spending quality time outdoors with my family. An avid crafter at heart, I find joy in bringing my creations to life. Join me on this exciting educational journey at UTSA, where we not only learn together but also grow together.
