Associate Professor of Instruction, Academic Introduction & Strategies
Jesse Harasta is an associate professor in the Academic Introduction & Strategies program. Professor Harasta is excited about first-year teaching and its potential for making the university engaging, welcoming, and open to all. He has been teaching in higher education for a decade and was given the Excellence in Teaching Award from the National Society of Leadership and Success in 2017. His research interests surround the use, promotion, and revitalization of lesser-used and heritage languages. He is interested in debates over orthography, language ideology, and the politics of standardization.
